Inspectors find rotten tomatoes, dead mouse at Springfield restaurants

This week, Springfield-Greene County Health Department food inspectors found rotten produce at one Springfield restaurant and a dead mouse at another, according to reports.

College Street Cafe, 1622 W. College St., had whole tomatoes rotting inside of plastic packaging, according to a March 9 routine inspection. The priority violation was corrected by voluntarily discarding the produce.

Over at Bruno’s, 416 S. South Ave., inspectors found a dead mouse in the basement next to grease traps. According to the March 10 inspection report, the non-priority violation was resolved by cleaning up and discarding the dead mouse…
