Downtown Springfield prepares for St. Patrick’s Day parade, festivities amid route changes

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Downtown Springfield is preparing for a full day of St. Patrick’s Day festivities, with parade organizers expecting large crowds, warmer weather and several events spread across the city center.

This year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade will follow a shorter route because of road closures tied to the ongoing Jordan Creek construction project, according to the Downtown Springfield Association.
