MONETT, Mo. (KY3) – A toddler from Monett is home after spending 10 months in the hospital following a head-on crash that left him and his mother with life-threatening injuries.
Brittany Zirfas and her 18-month-old son Maverick were struck head-on in Marionville last May. Both suffered critical injuries. Maverick went into cardiac arrest at the scene and was revived by bystanders who performed CPR until EMTs arrived. Those same bystanders also stayed with Brittany while she was trapped in the vehicle.
‘Mav had different plans’
“May 15th of 2025, Maverick and I were driving home from town, and we were hit head-on in Marionville by another driver,” Zirfas said.
