Former Aurora Police Corporal sues city for retaliatory termination

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Mo. (KOAM) — A former Aurora Police Corporal is suing the City for alleged retaliatory termination.

Former Corporal Tatum Maples filed the lawsuit in court on Monday, about a year after the incident happened.

According to the lawsuit, Maples witnessed Aurora Chief Wes Coatney hold a knife to the throat of a female officer and tell her he could “rape her and that there would be nothing she could do about it.”…
