HVAC technicians see surge in calls as Ozarks prepares for near-record warmth this weekend

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – HVAC companies are seeing an increase in service calls as the region prepares for Saturday’s high temperatures near 90°.

Ethan Reynolds, a service technician for DeLong Plumbing Heating & Air, said the calls started before spring began on Friday.

“The past couple of days – I mean, we’ve definitely seen an increase in calls. Honestly, I expect that to continue well through the weekend with the high temps we’re about to have,” Reynolds said.

Simple maintenance steps

Saturday’s highs will test air conditioning systems. Reynolds said homeowners should start with basic maintenance, beginning with the outdoor condenser unit. He recommended checking for debris or blockage on the fins, coils, and housing that could block airflow and affect performance…
