The city of Springfield offering public tours of Noble Hill Sanitary Landfill in April

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Edited News Release/KY3) – Springfield Environmental Services is offering tours of the Noble Hill Sanitary Landfill in April.

Tours will run from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 11; Thursday, April 16; and Wednesday, April 22. Space is limited, and registration is required.

Tour participants will witness landfill operations in action and see the types of materials deposited daily. They will also learn about procedures for maximizing landfill space and consider present and future challenges to the facility.

Landfill handles up to 1,400 tons daily
