New food hall, residential projects planned in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MO โ€“  The city council is set to vote on a set of rezoning plans that could pave the way for two new retail-residential projects to be built.

At its Monday night meeting, members were scheduled to decide on a zoning change in central Springfield for the proposed Tribecca Park project. The development would be located at the southwest corner of Grant Avenue and Grand Street, and east of Douglas Street.  The property is currently occupied by the remnants of an old APCO gas station that closed years ago, as well as a vacant former veterinary clinic.

The developer requested to rezone 2.5 acres for a 3 to 4-story, two-building complex with residential units on the top floors, and a food hall and other amenities on the ground floor. The measure was approved by the cityโ€™s Planning and Zoning Commission back on February 12th…
