Springfield lodging tax increase once again on the ballot to fund convention center

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) – Voters will decide in two weeks whether to increase the city’s lodging tax by 3% to help fund a proposed convention center in downtown Springfield.

The ballot question marks the second time city leaders have asked voters to approve a lodging tax increase for the project. Many have asked what’s wrong with keeping the current Springfield Expo Center.
