Fire Danger Continues as Temperatures Warm Back Up

Fire Risk continues for the Lakes Region as temperatures surge back up.

According to the National Weather Service office in Springfield, another day of Elevated Fire Danger is in place with dry air and gusty winds expected in the area. Elevated to Significant Fire Risk according to the NWS means that weather and land conditions are favorable for erratic fire spread if a fire does start. Outdoor burning in these conditions are not recommended expect by experienced fire personnel.

The Arkansas Department of Agriculture Forestry Division has all of northern Arkansas at a High Fire Danger as most counties still have burn bans in place. Many agencies in Missouri are also strongly discouraging outdoor burning in these conditions…
