SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A crowd of protesters gathered along South Campbell Avenue on Saturday as part of a nationwide “No Kings” demonstration, calling for what they described as a defense of democratic values and a pushback against what they see as authoritarian behavior from national leadership.
Participants waved signs, held flags and encouraged passing drivers to pay attention to issues they believe are being overshadowed. Many said they came out because they feel the country is at a critical moment.
