Kayaker photographs cave-in near recently refurbished historic bridge over Finley River

OZARK, Mo. (KY3) – A kayaker is sharing pictures he took of erosion that appears to be causing a cave-in at the Mill Pond Bridge over the Finley River, raising safety concerns about the recently refurbished historic structure.

Josh Marsh spotted the collapse below the southeast corner of the bridge while kayaking the Finley River. The erosion is difficult to see from the road but is visible from the water.

“Obviously, this is such an iconic bridge in Ozark. Anyone who lives here, we know it, we love it. We’re very grateful to have such a historic bridge here,” Marsh said.

Marsh said he was doing his usual loop around the bridge when he noticed the cave-in where the bridge meets the hillside…
