SPRINGFIELD, MO – You can now add ALDI to the growing list of retailers setting up shop on the city’s fast-growing southwest side.
According to building project plans submitted to the City of Springfield on Tuesday, the grocery chain plans to build a store at 3960 W. Washita St. The location is in the Springfield Plaza shopping center, in the West Sunshine-West Bypass vicinity.
The plans are still pending. If approved, ALDI would already have a head start on the construction process. The store would be located in an existing building on the far west side of the shopping center. According to city records, the structure was constructed in 2023 at the same time as the new Michael’s store. However, the corner store has remained vacant until now.
