We’re watching our next round of thunderstorms for this evening into tonight. The risk for severe weather is enhanced (3 out of 5) for areas northwest of I-44 beginning after 5 PM at the earliest. Storms will primarily pose a damaging wind risk, but a spinup tornado or two can’t be ruled out.
Straight line wind gusts of up to 80 mph are possible as this line of storms crosses out of Kansas and into West-Central Missouri. A spin-up today or two is possible within this storm line. The trend is for storms to weaken as they push southeast, but storms could still produce 60-70 mph wind gusts down to the I-44 corridor.
The earliest time for storms to begin to our northwest is 5 PM, but the most likely scenario is for storms…..
