Lashley’s Homer Not Enough in Marshfield Opener

Nolan Lashley hit a two-out home run in the first inning to put Republic ahead, but Marshfield answered with a run in the third and two in the fifth to beat the Tigers 3-1 on Friday in the opening game of the Marshfield Invitational.

It was the second straight game Republic scored in the first inning and didn’t score again. The Tigers lost 6-1 at home to Glendale on Thursday.
