Eastgate Avenue Bridge closes for two weeks

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Eastgate Avenue Bridge over the railroad between Monroe Street and Lombard Street will be closed for bridge work starting Monday, April 20, for up to two weeks, weather permitting.

MoDOT says a utility company is relocating power poles in the area to prepare for future bridge replacement work.

Drivers will be able to use entrances and driveways on either side of the work zone, and signs and message boards will be set up to alert drivers approaching the work zone. However, drivers will need to seek an alternate route around the work zone, MoDOT says.
