Missouri man will not go to prison for 2025 stabbing

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Mo. — A Lawrence County man charged with stabbing another man five times will not go to prison.

Friday, Tristian Byrne, 21, pleaded guilty to first-degree assault. Following that plea, Judge Alan Blankenship sentenced Byrne to 90 days shock incarceration in the Lawrence County Jail and five years probation.

Officers with the Aurora-Marionville Police Department arrested Byrne in April 2025 after a fight between him and Jason Long, 43.

During that fight, Byrne pulled out a knife and stabbed Long five times. Long has since recovered from his injuries…
