Alabama seniors encouraged to apply for fresh fruit, vegetable benefit cards

Residents across Alabama who are 60 years of age and older have an opportunity to receive funds for fresh produce. The federally funded Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, operated by the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries, is encouraging people 60 and older to apply for a SFMNP card, which allows senior citizens to purchase produce at local farmers markets across the state.
