(Alabama)– Throughout Jan., The Department of State added multiple countries to the travel advisory list for Alabamians to view before planning trips. The advisory list has four different categories, known as Levels.

  • Level 1: exercise normal precautions
  • Level 2: exercise increased precautions
  • Level 3: reconsider travel
  • Level 4: do not travel

Some places have been popular vacation and honeymoon spots for Alabamians in the past years to visit. However, when traveling, it is still vital to stay aware and know of any dangers.

The countries added to the travel advisor list in Jan. 2024 for Alabamians to be precautions of when traveling are:

Columbia, Level 3: tourists are subject to being victims of crime, and certain areas have been dealing with terrorism threats.

Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza, Level 4: ongoing wars, armed conflict, civil unrest, and terrorism threats.
