A wet weekend is ahead for a good portion of Alabama this weekend. Also, there is the possibility of strong to severe storms as well. Because of the expected repeated rounds of heavy rain, flooding is possible. The National Weather Service in Birmingham said this could impact areas mainly near and north of Interstate 20. The main threat is localized flooding of the poor-drainage regions and small waterways.
