(Alabama)– On Feb. 13, Alabama Judge Brooke Reid entered an order reverting the bond of 18-year-old Nicholas King-Sheppard, the suspect involved in the murder case of 16-year-old Michael Cole Jr., according to WSFA. Because of this recent change, King-Sheppard is now out on bond based on his original bond stipulations.
On Feb. 7, Judge Reid set King-Sheppard’s bond at $750,000. However, Reid requested to amend the bond requiring that 25% of the bail be paid in cash, equaling $187,500.
By this time, King-Sheppard’s family posted enough assets to secure his release based on requirements from his original bond. With the modified bond requirement, the family found themselves confronted with having to send King-Sheppard back to the Montgomery Cty. Detention Facility.
On Monday, Feb. 12, King-Sheppard’s legal counsel argued that Judge Reid couldn’t change his original bond requirements.
