Roebuck community members are fighting to keep their neighborhood’s Truist bank open amidst multiple closures in the area. “Our community is starting to drift away,” said resident Cereta Smith. “Because we don’t have restaurants. We don’t have shopping. And now our banks are leaving, leaving us with substandard amenities in our community. To have to go to another city to do my banking, to do my shopping, to have to go out to eat a nice dinner, it’s making it inconvenient. And my dollars are going to another municipality, which I think is somewhat sad.”
