Ivey deploys first responders to Fla., more National Guardsmen to N.C.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – Gov. Kay Ivey has deployed a 57-person search and rescue task force to Florida to help with recovery from the hurricanes Milton and Helene. She also activated more Alabama National Guard soldiers to help the Helene response in North Carolina. The 16-person team from the 20th Special Forces Group will help in remote areas in the state. This National Guard response is in addition to the 13-person team that was deployed previously.
