Staying dry with possible record high temperatures this week

The dry weather pattern will continue throughout this week across Central Alabama with unseasonably warm temperatures. High pressure will sit over the Eastern U.S. tonight and Wednesday. It will be clear and cool tonight with lows ranging from the upper 40s to middle 50s.

The area of high pressure will remain in place on Wednesday with southeast winds warming us up. Expect more sunshine and warm high temperatures in the lower 80s.

An upper-level wave will move across Alabama on Thursday, and that will bring us some high clouds. It will stay warm and dry with possible record-high temperatures in the middle 80s. The high clouds will linger on Friday as the wave moves east of Alabama. We will be mostly sunny with unseasonably near-record highs in the middle 80s.

Weekend Outlook: This weekend, a strong cold front will move across the Southeast U.S. Saturday will be mostly sunny, breezy, and cooler with highs in the middle 80s. The cold front will stall across South Alabama on Sunday. It will be partly cloudy and warm with high temperatures around 80. A stray shower is possible late Sunday into Monday, but do not expect much rain.
