Gov. Kay Ivey has a full schedule set Monday after becoming “dehydrated” at a campaign event Sunday evening, her staff says.
“She is feeling good,” Gina Maiola, Ivey’s press secretary, said Monday. “She has meetings at the capitol all day today, including with the pro-tem and speaker.”
While at a campaign event for Caroleene Dobson Sunday evening, the governor got dehydrated, Maiola said. She received fluids and was evaluated on site out of precaution. She “immediately felt better” and was home Sunday evening “doing well,” she said. The event was at SweetCreek Farm Market in Pike Road.
Dobson is the Republican candidate for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District.
Ivey, 80, is serving her second full term as governor.
