Opinion: God Didn’t Sit You Down, You Sat Yourself Down

Throughout like, just about every Alabamian can agree that there has been a time in life when things were not in order and life was just hard. Some residents were able to get through these difficult times while others may have gotten distracted and done the unthinkable, creating a bigger problem in their personal life.

For example, losing a job unexpectedly can bring financial stress, feelings of failure, and desperation. For some Alabamians, this can lead to poor decisions, such as turning to theft or fraud to make ends meet, creating a deeper issue than they anticipated such as paying a fine or jail time.

With the above example, some who are spiritual may believe or have heard of the phrase ‘God sat you down’ meaning that God created this hard and difficult time for you causing you to react negatively. Once you have been caught and received your punishment for your actions, wisdom should be gained to avoid the same negative energy or situation again, if the same scenario comes about again in your life.
