Once again, music mogul Sean Diddy Combs is making another attempt to secure bail as he awaits trial on trafficking and racketeering charges. On Friday, November 8, 2024, Diddy’s legal team filed a motion requesting his release on bail, offering a comprehensive package valued at $50 million.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the motion outlines the package, which includes the large bond and around-the-clock surveillance to ensure Diddy does not flee the country or interfere with witnesses. His attorneys are pointing to previous cases where defendants facing similar charges were granted bail, including one involving a CEO accused of sex trafficking ‘dozens of young men, along with an accomplice who allegedly intimidated witnesses’.
In that case, the government set bonds of $10 million and $500,000 for the accused and their accomplice, which Diddy’s lawyers argue is far less than the $50 million bond he’s offering. They also cite other instances where defendants accused of comparable crimes were released while awaiting trial, hoping to persuade the court to grant Diddy the same privilege.
