Over the past few days, Alabama native and beloved entertainer Rickey Smiley has made headlines after he revealed to his fans that he recently discovered he is the biological father of 5-year-old twin daughters. Smiley shared that he has known the girls for years but only learned of their biological connection through a recent DNA test that confirmed his paternity.
Smiley said that learning he has twin daughters have brought joy to his life after losing his son Brandon Smiley in 2020.
However, story took an unexpected turn when the twins’ mother, Alecia, responded publicly. In a post online, she wrote: “To be rightfully honest, my twins’ biological dad was the very FIRST person informed that I was pregnant! No one had the joy of raising them as their dad…that was all me for those 4 years!!! I tried to stay quiet but don’t speak on a situation unless you know the truth or have both sides. There’s 3 sides to every story! Choose as you wish! & for the record, DNA confirmed the validity of paternity, and we co-parenting wonderfully.”
