Alaska will send out Permanent Fund Dividend payments to another swath of eligible residents who have yet to receive their checks in 22 days.
Those who will receive their check from the state next month include those who have the “Eligible-Not Paid” status by Feb. 7 and have yet to receive a check from the PFD for 2023 or earlier.
Residents can apply for the 2024 Permanent Fund Dividend from now until March 31, either online or via paper form.
For a resident to be eligible for a payment from the Permanent Fund Dividend, he or she must intend to remain an Alaska resident indefinitely and may not be a convicted felon, among other requirements.
The Permanent Fund Dividend program provides Alaska residents with a check each year based on the state’s mineral revenues for that year. The 2023 payment was worth $1,312 per eligible resident, according to the Alaska Department of Revenue, with its distribution beginning in October 2023.
“The 2023 PFD marks the 42nd year Alaskans have received their share of the state’s natural resource wealth,” Alaska Department of Revenue Commissioner Adam Crum said in a statement about the payment in 2023. “I would like to thank our Permanent Fund Dividend Division for their tireless work year-round in administering the program and processing the applications.”
