FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) – A petition, from an out of state group, has been filed to protect Alaska’s Chinook salmon under the Endangered Species Act. As Chinook salmon populations have declined in recent years, efforts to protect the species have ramped up. But according to the Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game (ADFG) one effort has gone too far.
