Alaska’s Naval Militia and Navy Reserve honors lost sailors of WWII submarine

On Jan. 24, members of the Alaska Naval Militia and the United States Navy Reserves held a ceremony honoring the USS S-26, an S-class U.S. submarine commissioned in 1923 that went down in the Gulf of Panama in 1942 after it was accidentally hit by a submarine chaser.
