Ski Movie Company Drops Wild Drone Footage From Alaska

Look. Someone has to say it. Drones are annoying.

Or, at least, that’s how I thought about drones for the longest time. One moment, you’re enjoying a nice ski, hike, or whatever your preferred outdoor activity is. The next? Some jabroni who think he’s the Red Baron’s second coming is buzzing around, causing an unholy racket with his $4000 drone so he can make a sick nature edit.

But you know what? I’ve come around to drones.

They’re like mini helicopters, meaning, if used by skilled hands, they can produce previously impossible footage, like those featured in this edit from MSP. It’s a cool bit of filmmaking evolution, comparable to the leap from film to digital.

All I ask is that drone pilots know when the buzzing of their aircraft is and isn’t tolerable—otherwise, keep producing rocking footage.
