Lieutenant Governor Nancy Dahlstrom first made history when then Governor Mike Dunleavy asked her to be his running mate. According to Dahlstrom, it was the first time in Alaska history that the governor selected who would be his running mate. Dahlstrom confided that the governor called her and asked if she would consent to be his running mate. Dahlstrom said, “I agreed to being the Lieutenant Governor, and we ran as a team.”
