AROUND ALASKA: Totem Pole Relocated, Caps for Cops, and Owl Rescue!

A totem pole carved back in 1985 was recently relocated to the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center in Juneau. According to U.S. Forest Service officials, the pole depicts the legend of a friendship between a beaver and a porcupine. In addition to tribal members and Forest Service employees, a traditional Tlingit & Haida dance group was on hand as part of the celebration held in Juneau.
