‘Can we agree that our elections are a mess in Arizona? No? Okay,’ Lake continued, despite the booing
Arizona Republican Senate hopeful Kari Lake was booed while speaking at a state GOP meeting on Saturday after playing a central role in the resignation of Arizona’s Republican chair Jeff DeWit.
“We don’t agree on everything,” Lake said, to the sound of booing. “But one thing we do agree on is the elections in Arizona are a corrupt mess.”
“Can we agree that our elections are a mess in Arizona? No? Okay,” she continued, despite the continued negative reactions.
DeWit resigned last week after Lake leaked audio of him apparently attempting to bribe her not to run. The now-former Arizona GOP chairman said the audio was taken out of context, and that he believed he was set up.
In his resignation statement , DeWit said he was threatened by Lake’s team: “I received an ultimatum from Lake’s team: resign today or face the release of a new, more damaging recording.”
