Arizona Ski Resort Hit With 2+ Feet Of Snow In 24 Hours

It’s been a stormy start of the month for Arizona Snowbowl , who, yesterday, shared that they’d received 26 inches of snow in a 24-hour timespan.

Arizona Snowbowl has now received more than 100 inches of snow this season and is 100% open thanks to the storm.

And the kicker? More snow is on the way— around two feet by the weekend, to be exact, according to skiing-focused forecasters OpenSnow.

Other resorts in the Southwest have benefitted from the early February storm cycle. Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico, could see more than a foot of snow by the end of the week.

The weather hounds likely saw this coming. Over the summer, an El Niño kicked into gear, which bodes well for skiers in the Southwest. During El Niño winters , the Southwest typically experiences colder and wetter weather—the perfect recipe for powder days.

Now that 2024’s underway, those meteorological predictions are panning out, much to the benefit of ski areas like Arizona Snowbowl. Keep the powder train coming, I say.
