Arizonans are casting their ballots in the 2024 presidential election . Vote centers are open from 6am to 7pm Tuesday.
Why it matters: Arizona is expected to be one of only a few swing states that will help decide the presidential election and has a high-profile U.S. Senate race that’s captured national attention.
- Voters will also decide whether to enshrine the right to abortion in the state constitution and weigh a controversial ballot measure that would make it a state crime to cross into Arizona from Mexico anywhere except an official port of entry.
Zoom in: Democrats are hoping to pick up two U.S. House seats this cycle, with close races in the 1st Congressional District , featuring David Schweikert (R) versus Amish Shah (D), and the 6th Congressional District, with Juan Ciscomani (R) facing Kristen Engel (D).
What we’re watching: The first batch of results, including ballots received before Election Day, is expected around 8pm.
