A recent survey by Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) shows a “severe or very severe” labor shortage in the construction industry across the nation, with 58% of respondents reporting concerns. The organization found that the industry needs to attract an estimated half a million more workers than the current hiring rate to meet demand. The Arkansas chapter of ABC has now announced that its member contractors have invested a sizable amount to combat the need.
