Friday, July 26: Rain chances increase this weekend keeping 90s away

Happy Friday! We’ll get yet another late July day in the 80s today. Skies will be partly cloudy with a few pop-up rain showers possible this afternoon. A storm system will lift north through Arkansas and into Missouri overnight tonight and we’ll see a wave of scattered rain on Saturday.

Saturday won’t be a washout but scattered rain and an occasional thunderstorm is likely throughout the day. Temperatures will be held back in the low 80s and upper 70s thanks to the cloud cover and showers.

This system will keep moving north and east and it’ll exit the region Saturday night. Sunday will be warm in the upper 80s and humid.

High pressure begins to build in again once Saturday’s storm clears the area. This will allow high pressure in the east and high pressure in the west to join together. This will turn things hot just in time for the Ozark Empire Fair. Low to mid-90s are likely by the middle of next week.

There will be a low risk for isolated rain or thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday as a couple of waves of energy move around the newly formed heat dome. We should stay dry, but a popup storm is possible these two days.
