One-time August bill credit being issued to Entergy Arkansas customers

Entergy Arkansas customers will get a break on their August power bills via a one-time credit the utility announced Aug. 1.

“We know that higher costs for groceries and other everyday living expenses can be tough for some of our customers, especially during the summer months,” said Ventrell Thompson, vice president of customer service for Entergy Arkansas. “We are pleased that the timing of these bill credits will allow our customers to spend their money on other needs, such as back-to-school shopping.”

A residential customer will receive a one-time bill credit of about $78, a decrease of roughly 63 percent for a residential customer using 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kwh), said the utility, a subsidiary of Entergy Corp. that provides electricity to some 730,000 customers in 63 counties across Arkansas.

Commercial and industrial customers also will receive a one-time bill credit this month, according to Entergy Arkansas, as will Small General Service customers, which will get a credit of about $221, and Large General Service customers, which will receive a credit of around $12,158.
