Arkansas gas prices continue to drop ahead of Labor Day weekend

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) β€” Gas prices continue to drop in the Natural State ahead of Labor Day weekend.

GasBuddy said on Monday that gas prices in Arkansas fell more than eight cents in the previous week, averaging around $3.00 per gallon.

The cheapest station in the state was priced at $2.63 per gallon and the most expensive was $3.39 per gallon.

β€œIt seems fitting that, in the run-up to Labor Day, the national average has fallen for four straight weeks to its lowest point since February, giving Americans one last chance to hit the road with gas prices being less of a factor,” Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, said in a news release.

Prices in neighboring areas such as Little Rock, Memphis and Shreveport have all seen considerable drops in the previous week.

GasBuddy says prices are 39 cents cheaper than this time last year.
