FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Arkansas Department of Education says more than 20,000 Educational Freedom Account applications have been submitted in Arkansas for the 2024-25 school year.
Earlier this year, the ADE’s LEARNS website added a pair of charts that detail how many applications have been created and which schools are seeing the most applications.
Educational Freedom Applications (EFAs), occasionally referred to as vouchers, were created to allow the state to use public tax dollars to pay for children to go to private schools in the name of school choice.
As of October 29, 20,190 applications have been submitted with more than 6,000 submitted since the start of August.
Screenshots of the charts can be found below.
More than 3,200 applications are going toward homeschooling, a jump of more than 1,400 since the middle of August.
