LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Drama continues to unfold at the Arkansas Supreme Court as several employees faced the decision of coming to work or not Monday after being notified of their termination and an order to the contrary.
This came after Chief Justice Karen Baker attempted to fire 10 of the court’s directors during her first week on the job.

Reportedly, they all showed up to work Monday, though Baker said she had fired them.
However, that was before her fellow justices handed down an administrative order late Friday saying their employment would not be terminated.
The employees Baker terminated include the Director of the Administrative Office of the Courts, who, according to the other justices, is the one who has the power to hire and fire.
Baker said that the last three chief justices she served under had the power to hire and fire and she is basing her decision on that and thinks the rest of the justices should, too.
