A married California couple who are accused of killing the wife’s boyfriend have agreed to a plea deal in their homicide case.
After midnight on Dec. 18, 2025, Clovis police received a 911 call for a man found badly beaten on a canal near Barstow and Peach avenues. First responders found Geoffrey Bernardi, 37, fighting for his life, alone at the canal. He was transported to a hospital where loved ones gathered to see him; among those visitors, according to his mother, was his girlfriend, 32-year-old Misty Gomez.
The couple had met a few months prior on a dating app, and Bernardi was already hoping she would be his future wife, Bernardi’s mother told KSEE.
