Magnitude 4.3 earthquake strikes off California coast; Shaking felt near CA-Oregon border

A 4.3 magnitude earthquake jolted the region off the coast of Northern California, sending ripples of seismic activity through the area on Monday night, as reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

According to the USGS, the earthquake struck at 9:26 p.m. and was centered approximately 9.2 miles west-southwest of the census-designated place Klamath.

The epicenter was also situated about 43.8 miles north of the city of Arcata. The seismic event occurred off the coast, west of the border between Del Norte and Humboldt counties.

While the earthquake’s magnitude places it within the range considered moderate, there have been no immediate reports of significant damage or injuries. The USGS is actively monitoring the situation and collecting data to assess the full extent of the seismic activity.
