Major California freeway connector ramp shut down after 21 ton big rig overturns

A major traffic advisory is in effect as the California Highway Patrol reports the closure of the northbound I-110 connector to eastbound Route 91 following an overturned big rig incident.

The closure is expected to last until 6 PM, causing significant delays for commuters in the area.

The incident, labeled as a Traffic Collision with Emergency Medical Response, occurred at approximately 3:02 PM, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The location is reported as the northbound I-110 connector to eastbound Route 91.

As of 3:49 PM, the CHP has implemented a hard closure on the northbound I-110 connector to eastbound Route 91.

A significant task lies ahead for the towing service, as the big rig, loaded at 42,000 lbs, is on its side, blocking multiple lanes.

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has also been requested to respond for a hard closure of the affected area.

In the meantime, commuters are urged to seek alternate routes and plan for extended travel times.

The SigAlert, issued at 3:24 PM, indicates that the closure will last for approximately two hours, affecting two lanes at the end of the northbound I-110 connector to eastbound Route 91, as well as the slow lane of the main portion of eastbound Route 91 just east of I-110.
