Quiet Northeast, West Coast & Gulf Remain Very Active
Good morning everyone. We continue to watch low pressure fizzle out, redevelop, and meander in the Southeast today; bringing with it, another round of heavy thunderstorms for the Florida Keys, and some heavy rain & thunder for South Florida.
Low pressure will eventually organize better off of the coast, bringing stiff winds to the Southeast, enhanced tides, high surf, and some minor coastal flooding. In fact, coastal flood advisories have been posted for parts of the mid-Atlantic and south Jersey shore for the consistent ENE fetch piling up the water. Boating remains a non-starter with gale warnings posted as well, and Bermuda will take a fairly good hit as low pressure strengthens & nears the island.
We’re not done yet for the Gulf Coast and Southeast as system after system continues to bring incredible amounts of rain and snow to the West Coast & Southwest, especially California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona. As active as last year was, we could break records seen last year in regards to snow depth. You’ll see no complaints on this end, as these areas are in desperate need to make up 15-20 year deficits. At least now we’re getting a taste of the 80’s and early 90’s in terms of rain & snow, and things are not looking so dire as they were.
