Late on Friday night, at precisely 11:20 PM, a minor earthquake rattled the region south of Eureka off the California coast, according to data from the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake, measured at a magnitude of 4.1, originated approximately 18 kilometers west of Petrolia, CA.
Fortunately, there have been no reports of damage or injuries resulting from the earthquake. Despite its moderate magnitude, the event seems to have caused minimal impact on the affected area.
Residents in the vicinity may have felt the ground tremors, but the lack of damage reports suggests that the quake did not pose a significant threat.
The USGS continues to monitor seismic activity and provides valuable information to help communities stay informed about such events.
