‘Making a significant impact’: 7 million fentanyl pills, 3,700+ pounds of fentanyl powder seized in California

The state of California is making progress in tackling the state’s fentanyl crisis. The California National Guard’s Counterdrug Task Force has assisted local law enforcement agencies with getting fentanyl off the streets. New numbers obtained first by KCRA 3 Tuesday night show that the task force helped seize nearly 7 million pills containing fentanyl and 3,725 pounds of fentanyl powder across the state between January and May 2024. In May alone, the task force teamed up with local and federal partners to seize 1,170,893 pills and 986 pounds of powder.
