(FOX40.COM) — Caltrans is informing drivers of various upcoming road closures caused by multiple ongoing projects seeking to repair California’s roadways.
The first round of closures will take place from June 28 (Friday) to July 1 (Monday) for the “Sac-5 Garden Highway Pavement Project,” which will take place around northbound Interstate 5 at the Interstate 580 interchange from 8 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. on Monday.
Here is a list of the closures that will be in effect for this project:
- Northbound I-5 to westbound I-80 connector
- Eastbound 80 to northbound I-5 connector
- Closures will be in effect on Friday, June 28 from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. on Saturday, from 10 p.m. on Saturday to 10 a.m. on Sunday, and from 10 p.m. on Sunday to 5 a.m. on Monday

A detour from northbound I-5 to westbound I-80 will be in place due to the closures. Drivers will need to take the eastbound I-80 connector, stay in the right lane, and exit I-80 at Truxel Road. Driver can then take a left onto Truxel Road, move to the right lane, and take the onramp to westbound I-80.
