World’s most famous bridge raises tolls becoming most expensive crossing in California

Beginning July 1, 2024, commuters crossing the iconic Golden Gate Bridge will see an increase in toll rates as part of a multi-year toll increase program approved by the Golden Gate Bridge Board of Directors, the bridge district announced.

The new toll rates, approved to help fund maintenance and infrastructure projects, will impact all payment methods, the District stated.

Here are the updated rates:

  • FasTrak Account: Increased from $8.75 to $9.25
  • Pay-As-You-Go (License Plate Accounts and One-Time Payments): Increased from $9.00 to $9.50
  • Toll Invoice: Increased from $9.75 to $10.25
  • Carpool Rate: Increased from $6.75 to $7.25

In addition to these changes, multi-axle vehicle toll rates will also be adjusted. The revised rates per number of axles are as follows:

  • 2 Axles/Motorcycles: FasTrak $9.25, License Plate Account & One-Time Payment $9.50, Toll Invoice $10.25
  • 3 Axles: FasTrak $27.25, License Plate Account & One-Time Payment $28.50, Toll Invoice $30.75
  • 4 Axles: FasTrak $37.00, License Plate Account & One-Time Payment $38.00, Toll Invoice $41.00
  • 5 Axles: FasTrak $46.25, License Plate Account & One-Time Payment $47.50, Toll Invoice $51.25
  • 6 Axles: FasTrak $55.50, License Plate Account & One-Time Payment $57.00, Toll Invoice $61.50
  • 7 Axles or More: FasTrak $64.75, License Plate Account & One-Time Payment $66.50, Toll Invoice $71.75
